Welcome to ROSDBBMX (Real Old School Diamond Back BMX) — a place to explore some of the bikes I’ve built and learn more about classic Diamond Back BMX history.
If you’re looking for accurate, first-hand information and advice about old school Diamond Back BMX bikes from 1977 to 1984, you’re in the right place. Much of the information here comes from years of personal research, hands-on restoration work, and detailed investigation, supported by original catalogues, period material, and direct study of surviving bikes and components. I’ve also had the opportunity to discuss many of these details with people who were directly involved at the time, including former employees of both WSI and Diamond Back, helping to verify and expand on the historical information presented here.
While I can also help with models beyond 1984, my knowledge of those years is more general and less in-depth.
If you’re searching for original source information rather than recycled content, feel free to get in touch. I’m always happy to help fellow enthusiasts.
I’m not actively involved in the online BMX scene these days, but if you’re looking for a community of genuine enthusiasts, the only group I would personally recommend is the Old School Diamond Back BMX Official group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/OSDBOfficial
